PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cabinet has approved a significant increase in the performance allowance of attorney cadre officers, raising the allowance from 60 percent to 100 percent.
According to official details, the enhanced performance allowance will be equivalent to the officer’s initial basic pay of 2022 and will be subject to applicable income tax deductions.
The provincial cabinet formally approved the increase as part of efforts to improve incentives for attorney cadre officers serving in government departments.
The notification states that the allowance will not be counted towards pension or gratuity benefits. It further clarifies that the allowance will not be admissible during periods of extraordinary leave, long leave, or suspension.
The government has also specified that non-attorney cadre officers, as well as officials appointed under market-based salaries or special pay packages, will not be eligible to receive the attorney performance allowance.
Meanwhile, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has withdrawn all previous orders and notifications related to the performance allowance, replacing them with the newly approved policy.
