LAHORE: In anticipation of a large influx of visitors during Eidul Fitr holidays, the authorities have cancelled the holidays for staff at the Lahore Zoo and Safari Park.
According to Director of Punjab Wildlife Projects, Mudasir Hassan, staff holidays have also been cancelled at other zoos in the province.
To cater to the expected crowds, awareness programs related to wildlife will be held at the Safari Park, with four shows organized daily. Other recreational activities will also continue, and for the first time, food courts at the Safari Park will remain open, allowing visitors to enjoy food and beverages. The park will remain open until late at night.
Hassan stated that essential repairs and maintenance work have largely been completed, with the remaining work to be finished over time. To ensure public safety, a formal request has been made to the police, and assistance from the traffic police and ambulance services has also been sought. All necessary safety measures have been implemented to provide a secure and enjoyable experience for citizens during Eid.
For visitors planning to visit the Lahore Zoo, ticket prices are Rs100 per visitor for adults and children, while senior citizens (60 years and above) can enter for free. The zoo is open from 9:00 am till sunset, seven days a week.
