Latest update for ‘Apni Chat Apna Ghar’ applicants!

LAHORE: There is an exciting update for the applicants of Punjab’s ‘Apni Chat Apna Ghar’ initiative as the first house of the project is likely to be completed in a few months, here on Tuesday.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif personally visited Kot Lakhpat and reviewed the progress of the houses being constructed under Chhat Apna Ghar Loan Scheme.

The initiative, aimed at helping low-income citizens build houses, saw the start of construction on several plots.

During her visit, Maryam Nawaz inspected the under-construction house of Subia Munir, a single mother who received a loan under the scheme.

Chief Minister Punjab witnessed the completion of walls and installation of lanterns on the three marla plot, expressed satisfaction over the progress.

Maryam Nawaz promised to provide the necessary furniture for the house and assured the single mother that the cost of her daughters’ education would be borne by the Punjab government.

Expressing the good wishes of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, he said that this scheme is the right of every citizen, not a favour.

Subia Munir, who works in event management, expressed her gratitude and said that the scheme enabled her to build a house after receiving the check in early October. Construction began just 15 days later.
