LAHORE: Following Justice Ali Baqar Najafi’s elevation to the Supreme Court, the Lahore High Court has issued a new seniority list of justices, according to the High Court website.
The overall number of judges on the court has been reduced to 44, while the number of vacant seats has climbed to 16.
In the latest seniority list, Chief Justice Aalia Neelum remains in first place, with Justice Shujaat Ali Khan in second. Justice Abid Aziz Sheikh and Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan are currently ranked third and fourth respectively while, Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza ranks fifth, Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi is sixth, and Justice Faisal Zaman Khan is seventh.
Moreover, Justices Masood Abid Naqvi, Shahid Karim, Mirza Waqas Rauf, and Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal were placed eighth, ninth, tenth, and eleventh, respectively.
The seniority list places Justice Shahram Sarwar Ch. on 12th, Justice Sajid Mehmood Sethi 13th, and Justice Asjad Javed Gharal 14th.
Furthermore, Justice Tariq Saleem Sheikh placed 15th, Justice Jawad Hassan 16th, Justice Muzammil Akhtar Shabbir 17th, Justice Farooq Haider 18th, and Justice Muhammad Waheed Khan 19th in the seniority list.
Justice Rasaal Hassan Syed ranked 20th, Justice Asim Hafeez 21st, Justice Ahmad Nadeem Arshad 23rd, Justice Muhammad Nadeem Tariq 24th, Justice Muhammad Amjad Rafiq 25th, and Justice Abid Hussain Chattha 26th.
The last number is the list includes Justice Anwar Hussain on the 27th, followed by Justice Ali Zia Bajwa, Justice Sultan Tanvir Ahmad, Justice M Raza Qureshi, and Justice Raheel Kamran Sheikh.
