ISLAMABAD: The new and improved B-Form is being introduced by National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) for registering children, which is a stride towards checking the misuse of children’s data and human smuggling.

The special B-Form will help ensure registering children in a safe and reliable way, and it is a fundamental right of every child to obtain Registration of Birth from where they were born.

This is in collaboration with the Directorate of Immigration and Passport (DGI&P), and its gradual rollout is expected to begin January 15, 2025.

Special Features of New B-Form

According to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, the new B-Form will contain fingerprints and a photo of the child, which was never included in the registration certificate previously.

Upon birth registration, the child registration certificate (CRC) or B-Form requires the parents to get documented evidence of the child birth under a union council and must possess an NIC or NICOP.

With the automation of CRC obtaining an application, Nadra has facilitated this process so that parents may now apply with a normal fee of Rs50 or executive services at the rate of Rs500.

The new B-Form is far better than the old one, expected to be helpful in checking human smuggling and the theft of children’s data. The security level of the new B-Form will give a new dimension by adding fingerprints and the photo of the child, adding an extra layer of security to check data theft from children.

Nothing about the fee structure for special B-Form is specified, though it would depend on the current B-form fee level. On the whole, the new B-Form will hopefully curb human smuggling and misconduct against children.
