LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League (N) President and former Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif‘s visit to Saudi Arabia has been postponed.
According to reports, party sources said that the visit was postponed due to Nawaz Sharif’s deteriorating health. His doctors have advised him to avoid air travel.
Party sources further said that Nawaz Sharif’s personal physician Dr. Adnan is undergoing daily check-ups.
Doctors have advised Nawaz Sharif to get a pacemaker fitted. The PML-N president traditionally spent the last ten days of Ramadan in Saudi Arabia.
Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz reached Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah during Ramadan, where she was accompanied by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Maryam’s visit to the kingdom comes at a time when millions of Muslims are visiting the holy cities to perform Umrah during the holy times of the year. She visited Saudi Arabia to play an important role in both provincial leadership and humanitarian concerns.
Before leaving, Maryam Nawaz met her father Nawaz Sharif, who prayed for her well-being and the safety of the entire delegation.
