Over 200,000 citizens still deprived of Ramadan, Eid relief packages in KP

PESHAWAR: A large number of deserving individuals in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have still been waiting for the Ramadan and Eid relief package promised by the provincial government.

According to a private media outlet, the documents related that the government has planned to distribute a Ramadan relief packageKP govt announces special Ramadan Package to 10,016,395 families, but over 200,000 have been left behind due to several issues.

Technical glitches and mismatches in CNICs, names, and other identification data have left a large chunk of the population empty-handed.

The Gandapur-led government has committed to disbursing Rs. 10,000 each to over 10 million families.

The media channel, citing sources within the Social Welfare Department, revealed that while 805,000 individuals have received aid so far, more than 200,000 eligible citizens are still waiting.

KP Minister for Social Welfare Qasim Ali Shah said that the package distribution process is ongoing, adding that some technical issues prevented timely delivery.

Shah stated that around 800,000 people received their aid before or during Ramazan, and the department is actively working on resolving issues affecting the remaining beneficiaries.
