ISLAMABAD: A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight carrying Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has caused inconvenience to the airline and hundreds of passengers.

According to a private news channel, PM Shehbaz and Maryam Nawaz have returned to Pakistan via PIA flight PK-842 from Jeddah after performing Umrah in Saudi Arabia.

As per airline sources, the PIA flight from Jeddah reached Lahore instead of reaching Islamabad.

Earlier, the PIA plane waited for two hours at Jeddah airport for Shahbaz Sharif, Maryam Nawaz, and their delegation.

Passengers faced inconveniences due to landing in Lahore instead of Islamabad. Flight PK-842 from Jeddah to Islamabad was carrying 380 passengers, including those bound for Islamabad and KP, who protested loudly while stranded in Lahore.

The passengers insisted that they be allowed to disembark and expressed their desire to go to Islamabad by bus or train.
