PESHAWAR: Hours after KP Chief Minister Ali Alim Gandpaur re-appeared in the KP Assembly, a petition has been filed in the Peshawar High Court (PHC) seeking the disqualification of KP CM Gandapur.
The petition, submitted by advocate Azizuddin Kakakhel, alleges that Gandapur has violated the laws, “he has disobeyed his oath and should be disqualified from holding public office,” the advocate added.
According to the petition, Gandapur has consistently taken the law into his own hands since assuming the chief ministerial post.
Specifically, it cites his recent procession into Punjab, which allegedly aimed to incite people against the federal government. The petition also accuses Gandapur of misusing government resources to facilitate Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) protests and power rallies.
The petition expresses grave concern over Gandapur’s actions, particularly his alleged attack on the federal government with armed supporters. He has tried to disrupt the daily lives of countless citizens with his armed protesters.
In addition, the petition argues that Áli Amin Gandapur has tried to establish ”a state within a state”.
Azizuddin Kakakhel’s petition urges the Peshawar High Court to take swift action and disqualify Ali Amin Gandapur as Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The outcome of this petition will have significant implications for the province’s political landscape and governance.
