ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party finalized Faisal Karim Kundi and Sardar Salim Haider for governors of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Punjab, respectively.
According to a private news channel, the PPP has decided its nominees for the slots, and the appointments of new governors in KP and Punjab are expected soon.
Sources familiar with the development claimed that Bilawal Bhutto approved the Sardar Salim Haider name for governor of Punjab.
The Shehbaz-led government will issue the appointment of Sardar Salim Haider soon, a source said.
It is pertinent to mention that Sardar Salim Haider was elected MNA from Attock in 2008 on the PPP ticket and served as Foreign Minister during the PPP tenure.
As per reports, Faisal Karim Kundi is likely to be appointed as the Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He had served as Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly from 2008 to 2013. He was also an adviser to the Prime Minister in the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) government.
