PPP unveils candidate lineup for KP in upcoming General Elections

PPP directed all covering candidates to withdraw their nomination papers in favor of those officially nominated by the party.

PESHAWAR: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has officially released its list of candidates for the national and provincial assembly seats from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) for the upcoming February 8 general elections. The announcement includes candidates for 38 constituencies of the National Assembly and 101 candidates for the 155 KP Assembly seats.

Prominent PPP leader Faisal Karim Kundi is set to contest from NA-44 (Dera Ismail Khan-I), while Anwar Saifullah Khan will vie for the NA-43 (Tank-DI Khan) seat.

Other key candidates include Eng. Fazl e Rabi for NA-1 (Chitral), Haider Ali Khan for NA-2 (Swat-I), Mian Gul Shahryar Amirzeb for NA-3 (Swat-II), Alam Zeb Khan for NA-7 (Lower Dir-II), Najam ud Din Khan for NA-5 (Upper Dir), Syed Ahmed Ali Shah for NA-9 (Malakand), Sardar Malik Jan for NA-13 (Batagram), Muhammad Shuja Khan for NA-14 (Mansehra), and Usman Khan Tarakai for NA-20 (Swabi-II).

The released list for KP Assembly seats features candidates like Siraj Ali Advocate for PK-1 (Chitral-I), Saleem Khan for PK-2 (Chitral-II), Syed Hakeem Shah for PK-3 (Swat-I), Dost Muhammad for PK-6 (Swat-IV), Ahmed Karim Kundi for PK-112 (DI Khan-II), and others.

In a strategic move, PPP directed all covering candidates to withdraw their nomination papers in favor of those officially nominated by the party. Nisar Khuhro, PPP’s Sindh President, emphasized party discipline and warned of strict action against those going against party guidelines. The PPP is confident in its electoral prospects, with Khuhro expressing the belief that the party will deliver a surprise on February 8, particularly in Sindh.
