ISLAMABAD – The former Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Barrister Gohar has stated that if elections are not transparent, they will not be recognized.
Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Barrister Gohar emphasized that it is a democratic requirement for every political party to have an electoral symbol. He expressed hope in the Supreme Court, stating that the PTI had conducted the best intra-party elections, and they trust the judiciary to ensure fairness.
He asserted that if the elections are not transparent, they will not be accepted by the people, urging the Election Commission to establish regulations for transparent elections.
Barrister Gohar highlighted the importance of the Supreme Court in preserving democracy. He mentioned that the Election Commission has never taken an electoral symbol from a political party in this manner. He expressed relief that justice has been served to them, as the PTI conducted the most transparent intra-party elections. He hoped that the judiciary would continue to uphold their electoral symbol.

Furthermore, Barrister Gohar shared that there is regret over the resignations of Justice Aijaz ul Ahsan and Justice Mazhar Alam. He acknowledged their efforts and mentioned ongoing endeavors to bring about positive changes, including the Out-of-Court Crisis.
