LAHORE: The Punjab Excise and Taxation Department is now accepting applications for vanity plates. Vehicle owners can choose their desired numbers through an online process.
As per the details, the department received 60 applications on the first day. Interested applicants can submit their applications through the eAuction app on the vanity plate portal.
Excise Director General Umar Sher Chattha said that 57 applications were submitted in the platinum category and three in the gold category. No applications have been received in the corporate category yet.
The platinum vanity plate, which has 8 letters, is priced at Rs. 5 million, while the gold vanity plate, with 6 letters, is priced at Rs. 500,000.
National and international companies can also participate by depositing Rs. 10 million each. Applicants should submit their desired numbers through eAuction and pay the fee within three days. A scrutiny committee will review and approve the numbers before they are included in the e-auction system. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will inaugurate the first e-auction, after which vanity plates will be distributed among the buyers.
