Punjab Govt launches online auction for exclusive vehicle number plates

LAHORE: In a move towards modernization and convenience, the Punjab government has initiated the registration process for the online auction of a new series of attractive number plates for motorcycles and cars.

Commencing on January 1, the Punjab Excise and Taxation Department kicked off the registration for the auction of exclusive numbers through the state-of-the-art e-Auction App and Web Portal, developed in collaboration with the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB).

The registration process for two additional new series is scheduled to begin on January 11 and 21, respectively. Subsequently, the bidding for these three series will commence on January 11, 21, and February 1, providing ample opportunities for enthusiasts to secure their preferred vehicle numbers.

Notably, the online auction extends its reach to include commercial vehicles as well, with the registration process initiating on January 1 and the bidding set to start on January 21.

PITB Chairman Faisal Yousaf emphasized the ease and accessibility of the online auction, noting that citizens can actively participate in the bidding process and secure their desired vehicle numbers from the comfort of their homes, thanks to the user-friendly e-Auction Mobile App.

This progressive step not only brings a touch of digital innovation to the domain of vehicle registration but also aligns with the government’s commitment to facilitating citizens with modern and efficient services. The initiative aims to streamline the process, providing a hassle-free experience for those seeking personalized and exclusive number plates for their vehicles. The integration of technology through the e-Auction platform marks a significant leap forward in making government services more accessible and user-friendly for the residents of Punjab.
