She ordered the inclusion of a living room in the design of the model house and urged the introduction of toll-free numbers for the convenience of the public.

Following the Chief Minister’s directive, the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) will develop a special portal for the ‘Apni Chhat, Apna Ghar’ programme, through which applicants will be able to submit their applications online. Secretary Housing Asadullah Khan gave a briefing about the program.

The meeting was informed that application forms for the program will be available in the offices of Deputy Commissioners and Assistant Commissioners. Plot owners up to 5 marla can get interest free loan to build their houses.

According to the instructions of the Chief Minister, the homeowners will have the option of repaying the loan in easy instillments. Under the PHATA Ordinance 2002, allottees of the Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA) will get 3- and 5-marla houses in private schemes.

Under the programme, PHATA allottees will pay house instalments for five years after purchasing a house in a private scheme. The Punjab government will also provide subsidy to reduce housing costs in these schemes.

About 70,000 plot owners in cities or villages will be eligible for the loan. Plot owners up to 5 marla can avail interest free loans for construction of their houses. These important decisions were approved in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
