Punjab reports 12 deaths in rain and wind incidents

LAHORE: At least 24 people died in incidents of rain and storm in Punjab during the last 24 hours, according to media reports.

According to spokesperson Rescue Punjab, two siblings died due to an electric current in the Herbans Poora area of Lahore.

Two students of a religious school died from the collapse of the ceiling in Bhawalnagar, while a 20-year-old died in the Sherakot area. In Madina Town, a minor boy lost his life due to the current

Moreover, 2 individuals in the Naeemabad area of Okara, two minors in Pakpatan, and one person in the Bhakar district lost their lives due to the collapse of the ceiling and an electric current.

However, at least 92 people got injured in the meantime over various incidents that occurred in the province.

Earlier, the ongoing monsoon spell in Balochistan has claimed 11 lives, including women and children, since June 28, according to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority on Thursday.

The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Baluchistan has released a report with regard to losses of life and property in various rain-related incidents in Baluchistan.

“A child died, and a man was injured in a wall collapse incident in Khuzdar during rainfall.” People died in various incidents during rainfall in Zhob, Ziarat, Musakhel, Khuzdar, Loralai, Lasbela, and Kohlu districts of Baluchistan, according to PDMA.

In its report, PDMA Baluchistan stated that at least eight people were injured during the downpour.
