LAHORE: The Punjab Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has decided to set up booths on the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway for vehicle emission testing and issuance of green stickers.
Initially, the EPA will set up green sticker booths at Thokar Niaz Baig, Babu Sabo, Ravi and Kala Shah Kaku interchanges. Vehicles will be issued green stickers after conducting on-the-spot emission tests at these booths.
In addition, monitoring booths will be set up at all interchanges in the provincial city. These booths will be used to prevent vehicles with green stickers from entering the M2 (Lahore-Islamabad Motorway).
Punjab EPA Director General Dr. Imran Hamid Sheikh said that the number of green sticker booths will be increased gradually for the convenience of citizens. He said that emission testing of all vehicles will be completed before the start of the smog season. He said that vehicles without green stickers will not be allowed to enter Lahore during the smog season.
