Registration for Hajj 2026 to end today

ISLAMABAD: Only one day has been left as the registration for Hajj 2026 is set to end from today, i-e, July 09, Wednesday, according to the Ministry of Religious Affairs statement.

The ministry has stipulated that the applications can be made through 15 institutions of banks and also from home using online registration.

Information about Hajj 2026 costs and other terms and conditions will be released under government policy. The ministry’s spokesperson added that registered pilgrims can choose either the government or private scheme Hajj.

The spokesperson also urged overseas Pakistanis holding valid passports to register early through the online portal, adding that registration is compulsory for travel from Pakistan for Hajj 2026.

The ministry had given a deadline of July 9 to intending pilgrims for registration. Registration is to be done by only those who will be eligible for Hajj 2026. Registration can be done by the pilgrims at fifteen banks across the country.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Religious Affairs said that registration is as per the directions of the Government of Saudi Arabia. Saudi authorities will decide on the quota of Hajj for Pakistan based on the number of registrations.

It should be noted here that this year, 1,673,230 pilgrims all over the world attended the Hajj, out of which 1,506,576 international pilgrims came from 171 countries.

Based on Saudi Arabia records, 166,654 local pilgrims took part in Hajj this year, producing one of the most even gender proportions in Hajj history, with 877,841 men and 795,389 women.
