RAWALPINDI: Security forces have killed 71 terrorists, including those trying to infiltrate, in a series of successful operations near the Pak-Afghan border in the last three days.

According to the military’s media wing, at least 54 khwarij were naturalized on April 25 and 26 in North Waziristan District, after which a deliberate sanitisation operation was conducted on April 27 and 28.

During the operation in the surrounding areas of Hassan Khel, NWD, along the Pakistan-Afghanistan Border, 17 more terrorists, who were operating on the behest of their Indian masters, were hunted down and successfully neutralized, the ISPR said in a brief statement.

Furthermore, the ISPR said that “weapons, ammunition & explosives were also recovered from the killed khwarij.” The number of khwarij killed in three days anti inflation operation has risen to 71,” the statement added.

“The security forces remain committed to securing the nation’s frontiers and thwarting attempts at sabotaging peace, stability, and progress of Pakistan,” it added.

Earlier on the night of April 26 and 27, the security forces detected movement of a large group of khwarij trying to infiltrate through the Pak-Afghan border in the general area Hassan Khel of North Waziristan.

The troops effectively engaged and thwarted their attempt to infiltrate, killing all fifty-four khawarij.

Intelligence reports indicated that “this group of khawarij was specifically infiltrating on the behest of their foreign masters” to undertake high-profile terrorist activities inside Pakistan.

“Such actions by Fitna al Khwarij (FAK), at a time when India is leveling baseless accusations against Pakistan, clearly imply whose cues FAK is operating,” the statement read.

“Such actions amount to treason and betrayal against the state and its citizens,” it added.
