Seven died due to monsoon rain in Balochistan

QUETTA: At least seven people died and seven others were injured in several incidents in the monsoon rain in Balochistan.

According to a report issued by the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), the incident occurred due to heavy rains, strong winds, and lightning.

Five homes in the Washuk district were totally damaged by rain. Additionally, homes, farms, and solar panels in Washuk, Loralai, and Surab were reported damaged.

According to PDMA, rescue efforts are still underway in the impacted regions.

Earlier, the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) released a Monsoon Alert Fact Sheet, stating the status of monsoon rain, and river, barrage, and dam water levels of Punjab.

Information on the extent of the damage from monsoon rains is also provided in the fact sheet. The information is that, within the past 24 hours, rain was observed in various locations such as Murree, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Attock, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Hafizabad, Chakwal, and Dera Ghazi Khan.

PDMA Director General (DG) Irfan Ali Kathia, presenting information from the report, announced that 18 people died as a result of monsoon rain and 57 others were injured. Additionally, 27 homes were also damaged.
