KARACHI: The provincial government of Sindh has issued a notification of two-day official holiday on October 20 and 21 for Hindu employees.
Since Sunday, October 19 is already a weekly holiday, Hindu employees will get three consecutive days of leave from October 19 to 21, on which they will be able to celebrate Diwali with their family and loved ones.
According to the notification of the Services, General Administration and Coordination Department, these holidays will be applicable to all Hindu employees working in all government and semi-government institutions, schools, colleges, universities and local councils across the province.
Currently, Sindh is the only province that has announced an official holiday on Diwali, but such announcements are expected from the federal government and other provinces soon, with this, the Hindu community across Pakistan will be able to celebrate the festival of Diwali in a dignified manner at the national level.
