ISLAMABAD: Two mobile phone dealers from Peshawar, who traveled to Germany on a trip organized by a Pakistani smartphone company Sparx, went missing in January this year.

Daily Ausaf reported the issue of these ghost employees on February 6, 2025, and tried approaching Sparx for their stance, however, the company denied issuing any statement.

The sheer silence of the company shows its alleged involvement in the employees’ disappearance in the European country under the pretext of a corporate trip.

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the government’s agency that deals with immigration and human smuggling, also avoided responding to the issue.

Earlier, Daily Ausaf, citing a telecom source, reported that a delegation of 84 dealers from a company named Sparx traveled to Germany on January 20. On the very first day of the trip, two dealers, hailing from Peshawar, suddenly disappeared and have not been traced yet.

An official of a Karachi-based tourism company said that the disappearance of the two dealers has been reported to the German police, who searched for several days but could not find the two dealers.

The incident has also reportedly been brought to the attention of the German Consulate General in Karachi.

A representative of the private company stated that all the dealers obtained visas from the German embassy after providing bank guarantees and completing other necessary documentation.

It was also learned that the senior official of the company, identified as Zeeshan Qureshi, allegedly took Rs5 million from the two dealers and helped them escape.

According to reliable sources, Sparx is suspected of having created a new human smuggling method, enabling people to escape from Pakistan under the guise of business trips.
