Submarine cable fault disrupts internet service in Pakistan: PTA

ISLAMABAD: Internet service has been facing disruption in some areas of Pakistan due to the fault in the global submarine cable SMW4, regarding which the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has issued an alert.

The PTA spokesperson said the fault in this cable may lead to slower internet speeds during peak usage hours.

Telecom Authority has issued an alert saying that there has been a fault in the global submarine cable SMW4 (SMW4).

Furthermore, the PTA statement said teams are trying to identify the fault and fix it, while the authority is monitoring the situation till internet broadband service is restored on priority.
