ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court full court bench reserved the verdict on the case related to the Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) reserved seats on Tuesday.
Sunni Ittehad Council (SIC) filed a plea against the Peshawar High Court’s (PHC) verdict upholding the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) decision denying them the reserved seats.
The Supreme Court (SC) full court headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa, comprising Justices Syed Mansoor Ali Shah, Munib Akhtar, Yahya Afridi, Aminuddin Khan, Mandokhail, Muhammad Ali Mazhar, Ayesha Malik, Athar Minallah, Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi, Shahid Waheed, Irfan Saadat Khan and Naeem Akhtar Afghan heard the case.
A 13-member full court bench led by CJP Qazi Faez Isa conducted the hearing today with Barrister Salman Akram Raja and SIC’s counsel Faisal Siddiqui presenting their arguments before the court.
The apex court announced that the reserved verdict on the SIC case will be announced after consultation.
