LAKKI MARWAT: Terrorists have struck, blowing up a key gas pipeline in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Lakki Marwat district, which supplied natural gas to Punjab.

The pipeline, originating from the Bettani Gas Field, was targeted near Wandah Ameer in the Torwah area, causing a massive fire and significant gas leakage.

This incident is not new to the area, as terrorists had detonated the gas pipeline at the same spot around a week ago, highlighting a disturbing pattern of repeated attacks.

The blast, believed to be caused by planted explosives, has suspended gas supply to Punjab, prompting immediate action from law enforcement and gas company officials.

They have reached the site, secured the area, and initiated repair work to minimize disruption to gas supplies. Security forces have cordoned off the area, and emergency teams are working to control the fire and assess the damage.

The incident has been condemned as a major act of sabotage against critical national infrastructure, aimed at destabilizing the region and disrupting essential energy supplies.

Police have launched an investigation to identify and apprehend those involved in the attack. Given the pipeline’s history of being targeted by saboteurs at different points, authorities are working diligently to restore functionality and prevent future incidents
