Three sibling died in Nowshera after having diluted sweets

NOWSHERA: In a tragic incident, three siblings from the Nowshera district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have died due to consuming diluted sweets, according to media reports.

“The family had consumed Mithai [sweets] with tea at night, after which their condition deteriorated. Three siblings have died after consuming poisonous food. Their mother was in critical condition, according to Nowshera police spokesperson Turk Ali Shah.

The deceased have been identified as Maryam,8, Hareem, 6,  and Muhammad Yaman,4 years old. “The mother is undergoing treatment at the hospital,” Shah added.

A First Information Report has been filed on the complaint of Bakht Sher, the children’s father, Shah said, adding that an investigation was underway to ascertain the cause of the deaths.

Earlier today, six members of the same family were shot dead over a domestic dispute in Khatko Pul area, located in the jurisdiction of Peshawar’s Urmar Police Station, according to the police officials.

As per SP Raza Muhammad, the casualties and injured have been transported in critical condition to Lady Reading Hospital (LRH). The victims, including some women, were from the same family.

According to the reports, the assailants opened fire using Kalashnikov rifles and then fled the area
