DUBAI: The Pakistan Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai have enhanced their services to support Pakistani nationals in the UAE, coinciding with the launch of a two-month visa amnesty program by the UAE government.
The initiative, effective from September 1 to October 31, 2024, offers a chance for individuals with expired visas to regularize their status or depart the country without incurring penalties or future travel restrictions.
This initiative is particularly significant for the large Pakistani expatriate community in the UAE, numbering around 1.7 million individuals.
The amnesty program offers a vital opportunity for those facing difficulties due to expired visas to either regularize their status or return to Pakistan without the burden of legal consequences.
The UAE government has emphasized that the amnesty program promotes respect for the law, tolerance, compassion, and social cohesion.
It provides a chance for visa and residency violators to correct their status through flexible and easy procedures, enabling them to obtain their rights and exit safely or live and work in the country per the law.
