ABU DHABI: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) permits businesses and other employers to hire foreign nationals, including Pakistani nationals, for different types of employment.
After meeting all the requirements, they receive the employer-sponsored Employment Visa for the foreign national workers from the UAE government.
The UAE work visa or employment visa is a residency visa and permits its holder to work in jobs within the country. This visa is provided according to the employer’s sponsorship.
It all starts after a foreigner enters into a job contract with the employer based in the UAE.
Then the company based in the UAE makes an application through the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) for the work permit.
Once the permit is out, the foreign employee is free to travel to the UAE.
Upon arrival in the UAE on a work visa, the employee has to undergo a medical fitness certificate.
The foreign nationals provide their biometric data for the Emirates ID.
Subsequently, a visa sticker is affixed to the employee’s passport.
The mainland employment visas of the UAE are valid for two years, whereas free zone visas’ validity may extend to three years.
The work visas may be extended if the employer and employee mutually decide to extend the contract.
The approximate fee of the UAE is AED 3,000 to AED 7,000 and its excluding the Emirates ID fee, medical examination and insurance.
As per reports, the processing time of a UAE work visa is generally 10-15 working days. In certain circumstances, it gets delayed.
