Young domestic worker tortured, murdered in Jhelum

JHELUM: Punjab police have initiated an inquiry and registered a case of murder of an 18-year-old girl against a man, his wife, and two domestic employees working as a maid in the Kala Gujran area of Jhelum.

The girl’s dead body was found inside the house and was shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital, according to police. Several torture marks were found on the body of the deceased after the initial post-mortem.

The complaint was registered on the request of the girl’s father, alleging that his daughter had been beaten up by the house owner, accusing her of jewelry theft. He said she was falsely accused and subjected to abuse.

Police have arrested a woman and two others involved in the case,e and more raids are being conducted to apprehend the other suspects.

They added that further investigation has been underway to find the real cause of the death. The body of the girl has been sent to Okara, where the final religious rituals shall be performed
