LAHORE: Pakistan’s top YouTuber and internet sensation Ducky Bhai continues to be in hot water as a local magistrate extended his physical remand for two more days in a case related to the promotion of illegal gambling applications.

Saad-ur-Rehman, who has amassed millions of followers, was arrested at Allama Iqbal International Airport, Lahore, on August 17 while trying to leave Pakistan. He is accused of promoting betting platforms including 1xBet, Bet365, B9 Game and Binomo on his YouTube channel. Investigators have also alleged that he worked as a country manager for Binomo.

The case, registered by the National Cybercrime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), cites provisions of the Electronic Crimes Act 2016 and the Pakistan Penal Code, which cover charges such as electronic fraud, forgery, spamming, forgery, cheating and prize-based schemes.

During the hearing, NCCIA officials requested more time, saying that forensic analysis of the seized equipment revealed chats about gambling promotion and evidence of foreign money transfers. However, Rahman’s lawyer argued that no evidence was presented to show his client’s role as a Binomo manager or that his promotions caused direct financial loss to the public.

Magistrate Muhammad Naeem Wattoo directed investigators to quickly complete their investigation and ordered Rahman to appear in court again on September 3.
