Abrar Ahmed closes in on ICC ODI No. 1 bowling ranking

DUBAI: Pakistan spinner Abrar Ahmed is close to securing the top spot in the ICC ODI bowling rankings, according to the latest rankings.

Abrar Ahmed remains at number two and is only 7 rating points behind Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan, who still holds the top position, while fast bowler Naseem Shah’s ranking has also improved.

The latest rankings have seen several changes after the first ODI between England and India and Zimbabwe’s series against Bangladesh.

In the batting rankings, former Pakistan captain Babar Azam has dropped one place to 7th place, with 689 rating points. All-rounder Salman Ali Agha has also dropped one place to 16th position.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan maintained his 31st position, while Fakhar Zaman has dropped one place to 36th. Saim Ayub has also dropped one place to 44th position.

In the ODI batting rankings, New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell remains at the top, while Indian captain Shubman Gill is in second place with a difference of 11 rating points, and India’s Virat Kohli remains at third place.

Among other Pakistani players in the bowling rankings, Shaheen Shah Afridi has dropped one place to ninth, while Haris Rauf has dropped two places to 22nd position. Naseem Shah has moved up one place to 47th, while Mohammad Wasim Jr. has maintained his 69th position.

In the ODI all-rounders’ rankings, Salman Ali Agha has dropped one place to 11th, while Shaheen Shah Afridi has moved up one place to 21st. Abrar Ahmed has moved up one place to 31st, and Naseem Shah has moved up one place to 38th.

Saim Ayub is in 40th place after improving one position, Haris Rauf is in 47th place, Shadab Khan is in 61st place, and Muhammad Nawaz is in 73rd place after improving one position.
