Amin Gandapur gets bail in 24 cases

ISLAMABAD: The Dera Ismail Khan bench of the Peshawar High Court approved the bail applications of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Amin Gandapur in 24 cases on Tuesday.

Gandapur appeared before the DI Khan bench the day PTI founder Imran Khan nominated him for the chief minister slot of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

It is pertinent to mention that the PTI has announced to form a coalition government with the Jamaat-e-Islami in the province while the party will join hands with Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) in the centre and Punjab.

The announcement was made by Central Information Secretary Raoof Hasan on Tuesday after party leaders and journalists met PTI founder Imran Khan in Adiala jail.

Ali Amin Gandapur defeated JUIF Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman from his native constituency in Dera Ismail Khan.

According to the complete and official results of all 358 polling stations of Constituency NA-44 Dera Ismail Khan, PTI-Backed Independent candidate Ali Amin Khan Gandapur won by securing 93443 while Maulana Fazlur Rehman of JUIF came second with 59,364 votes.

Terrorist attack claims lives of two farmers in DI Khan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: In a tragic incident, two farmers lost their lives and two others sustained injuries in a terrorist attack near a police check post in the Garah Hayat area of Dera Ismail Khan city. The attack targeted farmers working in the field, while police officials at the check post remained unharmed.

Rescue teams quickly arrived at the scene, providing immediate medical assistance to the injured individuals who were then transferred to the District Head Quarters (DHQ) hospital. Thankfully, no police officials were reported injured during the attack.

This unfortunate event follows a similar incident last year when three policemen were martyred and 16 others injured in a terrorist attack on a police station in Dera Ismail Khan. The terrorists targeted the Daraban police station’s main gate, using an explosive-laden car, resulting in casualties among the law enforcement personnel. The police responded effectively, neutralizing two terrorists during an exchange of fire.

The injured were promptly shifted to DI Khan Hospital, and the affected area was cordoned off for security measures. Authorities are actively engaged in maintaining the safety and security of the region, emphasizing the need for vigilance against such acts of terror.

Three Security Guards martyred in the Suicide attack in DI Khan.

DI KHAN: Three security officers were killed and sixteen others were injured in a horrific suicide attack and shooting at the Darbin police station in Dera Ismail Khan.

The attackers used a vehicle loaded with explosives to smash through the police station’s main gate in order to carry out their evil scheme.

Consequently, three courageous police officers—Hawaldar Riasat and Sepoy Zulfiqar, among others—made the ultimate sacrifice and chose to die while performing their duties.

Unfazed by the first assault, the terrorists tried to enter the police station by firing shots.

Three terrorists were eliminated in the ensuing exchange thanks to the security forces’ prompt, valiant reaction.

The injured have been taken to the DI Khan hospital right away to receive treatment.

Tehsil Darbin in DI Khan is placed under total lockdown while security personnel take the required actions to guarantee the region’s safety and security.

In the Tehsil, the papers have been canceled and the schools have closed.

Dera Ismail Khan Bomb blast several people injured

DI Khan: In Dera Ismail Khan, there was a loud explosion in Ponda Bazar near Tank Adda, in which several people were injured.

As a result of the explosion, there are reports of several people being injured, while heavy firing was also heard after the explosion.

According to reports, a police van was targeted in the blast, while the nature of the blast is yet to be ascertained.

A heavy contingent of security agencies has reached the spot and rescue personnel have shifted the injured to a nearby hospital.

Security forces kill terrorist in Dera Isamil Khan operation

Security forces on Wednesday killed a terrorist and injured the other during an intense exchange of fire in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in general area Kulachi of Dera Ismail Khan district.

During conduct of the operation, intense fire exchange took place between the Army troops and terrorists, an Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release said.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorist, who remained actively involved in terrorist activities against security forces and killing of innocent civilians, it said.

The locals of the area appreciated the operation, whereas sanitization of the area was being carried out to eliminate any other terrorists found in the area.

Met office forecast more monsoon rains from tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Metrological Department (PMD) on Tuesday predicted another spell of rains in upper parts of the country from tomorrow.

According to the PMD, a “westerly wave” was also likely to enter the country on August 3 (Thursday).

Under the new spell, it said rains with wind/thundershowers were expected in Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s Neelam valley, Muzaffarabad, Poonch, Hattian, Bagh, Haveli, Sudhanoti, Kotli, Bhimber and Mirpur from the night of Aug 2 to Aug 7 with occasional gaps.

A similar forecast was issued for Diamer, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, Ghanche, Shigar, Murree, Galliyat, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Narowal, Chitral, Dir, Sheikhupura, Lahore, Shangla, Buner, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Haripur, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, and Nowshera as well.

The PMD also predicted rains and thundershowers in Kurram, Lakki Marwat, Kohat, Dera Ismail Khan, Banni, Karak, Waziristan, Kasur, Mianwali, Sargodha, Khushab, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang and Bhakkar from Aug 4 to Aug 7 with occasional gaps.

The department further warned in its advisory that the rains could cause flooding in local nullahs and streams in Kashmir, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and GB from Aug 4 to Aug 7.

“Heavy rains may cause urban flooding in low-lying areas of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Gujranwala, and Lahore and may trigger landslides in vulnerable areas of Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir, GB and KP.”

The Met office advised travelers and tourists to remain cautious during the forecast period.

Ali Amin Gandapur’s brother disqualified from contesting LG polls

PESHAWAR: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday has disqualified Umar Amin Gandapur, a local body candidate and brother of Federal Minister Ali Amin Gandapur from contesting the Dera Ismail Khan Tehsil Mayor election.

The ECP has pronounced its verdict in the case against continuous violation of the code of conduct by the Federal Minister and his brother Umar Amin Gandapur.

Announcing the verdict, the Chief Election Commissioner said that PTI candidate Umar Amin Gandapur will not be able to contest the election for the Dera Ismail Khan mayor seat on 13 February as a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate.

Ali Amin Gandapur’s brother Umar Amin Gandapur was disqualified by the Election Commission while Federal Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was barred from participating in the local body election campaign.

However, the Election Commission has lifted the ban on Ali Amin Gandapur’s visit to Dera Ismail Khan and said that Ali Amin Gandapur will be able to participate in family celebrations.

The decision further said that if Ali Amin Gandapur violates the Code of Conduct again, ECP will take strict action against him.

On February 4, ECP ordered the forcible ‘ouster’ of Ali Amin Gandapur from Dera Ismail Khan district during the second phase of local body elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

PM Imran Khan will distribute Kissan Cards in DI Khan today

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan will distribute Kissan Cards among farmers in Dera Ismail Khan (DIK) on Thursday (today).
As per details, PM Imran Khan will distribute Kissan Cards to 200,000 registered farmers out of 500,000 and will announce the provision of subsidies to the farmers to uplift the agriculture sector in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Furthermore, the premier is also scheduled to inaugurate the Gomal Agriculture University building and Gomal Zam Dam Command Area and Research Stations.
Earlier, Prime Minister Khan had said that there are 8.4 million farmers in the country and he wanted to double their earnings through various government-led initiatives.
Addressing Kisan Convention during his day-long visit to Bahawalpur, PM Khan had termed farmers as the country’s real asset while differentiating between them and feudal lords and said that his government’s efforts have provided them an opportunity to earn Rs1100 billion more.
