The Pakistan Metrological Department has predicted heavy rain, thunderstorms, and hail across the province until April 29. The impending weather system is expected to bring stormy rains to various districts, prompting authorities to issue precautionary advisories.

A PDMA representative has stated that severe rains are expected in the south Punjabi regions on April 28. This raises concerns about possible disruptions and safety threats. In addition, significant rain is predicted for Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Jhelum, Chakwal, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujranwala, and Gujrat.

Hafizabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, and Faisalabad are also likely to have rain, along with other areas including Jhang, Khushab, Sargodha, Mianwali, Pakpattan, and Sahiwal. Hail may also accompany the precipitation.

The representative stated that hailstorms are anticipated in most districts in addition to rain.

However, following a few days of rising temperatures, Lahore is expected to have a fresh round of rain starting tomorrow and lasting till April 31.

In several parts of the country, heavy rains are predicted by the Met Department, which is followed by a drop in temperature and the arrival of more pleasant weather.

Authorities have instructed the Provincial Disaster Management Authority’s administration to make sure that low-lying regions have adequate drainage to reduce the risk of floods in reaction to the prediction. In bad weather, people should avoid electric poles and hanging wires, according to PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia.

Furthermore, citizens are urged to seek refuge in safe places to avoid exposure to lightning strikes, as highlighted by the DG PDMA.
