Punjab weather update: PMD predicts rains & strong winds this week

LAHORE: A new weather system has entered Punjab, bringing rain and strong winds, ending weeks of dry weather.

The Meteorological Department has forecast rain with gusty winds in several districts including Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Sargodha divisions.

While many areas will experience rain and strong winds, Lahore and other areas are expected to see cloudy skies with intermittent sunshine but no rain.

Weather in Punjab: Lahore is expected to record a minimum temperature of 19 degrees Celsius today, with a maximum of 32 degrees Celsius. Rain will improve weather conditions, marking the end of the long dry season.

Other affected areas: Intermittent rain, wind and thundershowers are expected in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir. Isolated heavy rain and hail are also likely in these areas.

Rain has been predicted at a few places in upper Punjab, Islamabad and lower Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the next 12 hours.

  • Lahore & Karachi: 24°C
  • Peshawar: 16°C
  • Quetta: 5°C
  • Gilgit: 8°C
  • Murree: 10°C
  • Muzaffarabad: 15°C

Cloudy weather with rain, wind and thundershowers is expected in Srinagar, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian and Baramulla.

Cloudy weather with rain and snowfall is expected in Leh, while Jammu will witness partly cloudy conditions with rain and thundershowers.
