Dubai to host exclusive auction for 90 unique luxury number plates

DUBAI: The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced the auction of 90 special number plates, which is scheduled to be held on October 12 in Dubai.

The auction will feature distinguished 2-, 3-, 4- and 5-digit plates, including special numbers such as ‘AA17’ and ‘V96’. Available plates will have series codes AA, L, N, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y, and Z.

Bidders can start registration on October 7, with the auction starting on October 12 at 4:30 pm at the Jumeirah Beach Hotel in Dubai. Interested participants can register on RTA’s website (www.rta.ae), via the Dubai Drive app, or in person at RTA’s Customer Happiness Centers in Umm al-Ramoul, Deira and Al Barsha.

Seats in the bidding hall are limited, with priority given to those who have pre-registered. Pre-registration is encouraged, although participants may also register onsite on the day of the event beginning at 2:00 p.m.

5% VAT is applicable on the sale of number plates. Bidders must have a traffic file in Dubai and submit a security check of AED 25,000 to the address RTA. Additionally, a non-refundable auction fee of AED 120 is required, which can be paid online, at Customer Happiness Centres, or through the Dubai Drive app.
