ANKARA: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has assured his brotherly country Pakistan of his full support.
According to international media reports, the Turkish President expressed satisfaction over the announcement of a ceasefire between Pakistan and India in a cabinet meeting.
President Erdogan said that tireless efforts were made to reduce tensions between the two countries after the Pahalgam incident.
He informed his cabinet that the situation had escalated to a very dangerous level, which threatened peace in the region.
Erdogan further said that he had a telephone conversation with his brother Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and their talks yielded very encouraging results.
On this occasion, the Turkish President congratulated the Pakistani people for their restraint and wise stance.
He advised both countries to avoid provocations, adding that the calm created by the ceasefire will be helpful in resolving all issues, especially the water dispute.
President Erdogan reiterated that God willing, Turkey will stand by the brotherly nation of Pakistan in every difficult time.
