OTTAWA: Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has made explosive allegations against Indian diplomats, accusing them of involvement in the murder and extortion of Canadians, in collaboration with an Indian criminal gang.

This dramatic escalation of tensions between the two nations began when Trudeau suggested Indian agents were linked to the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar, a Canadian Sikh activist, in British Columbia last year.

Trudeau condemned India’s actions, stating that no democracy can accept such a fundamental violation of its sovereignty.

In addition, he emphasized that Canada will never tolerate foreign governments threatening or killing Canadian citizens on Canadian soil.

In a recent press conference, Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RMPC) Commissioner Michael Duheim said police had uncovered extensive information about criminal activities involving agents of the Indian government, posing serious threats to the safety of Canadians and Canadian residents. are followed.

The RMPC has been investigating three homicides across Canada with possible links to India but refused to clarify if Nijjar’s killing is among them.

In response to India’s refusal to waive diplomatic immunity for six officials, Canada expelled them, prompting India to retaliate by ordering six Canadian diplomats to leave the country.

India has denied any involvement, calling the allegations “preposterous” and claiming that Canada has not shared any evidence.

On Monday, the Indian foreign ministry summoned the Canadian charge d’affaires to express its condemnation of what it called the “completely unacceptable” and “unfounded targeting” of the Indian high commissioner and other diplomats.

The situation remains tense, with Trudeau and Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly working to resolve the issue while ensuring Canada’s sovereignty and public safety.
