TEHRAN: Iran executed three people on Wednesday after they were convicted of collaborating with Israel’s spy agency Mossad and smuggling equipment used in assassinations, the judiciary’s Mizan news agency reported.
Mizan reported, without giving further details, that the equipment they smuggled was used in the assassination of an unknown figure.
Engaged in a decades-long shadow war with Israel before the recent open conflict, Iran has executed scores of people accused of having links with Mossad and facilitating the latter’s operations in the country.
These range from the murder of nuclear scientists to acts of sabotage aimed at undermining Iran’s nuclear program.
