Pakistan’s role in US-Iran ceasefire talks praised in UK Parliament

LONDON: In a session of Prime Minister’s Questions held in the British Parliament, MP from Manchester, Afzal Khan, praised the mediation of Pakistan in helping de-escalate tension and putting the US and Iran on a path towards negotiations in Islamabad.

As per details, MP Afzal Khan said that the leadership of Pakistan, particularly the prime minister and the chief of army staff, has played an important role in getting these rival nations to sit down and talk.

MP Afzal Khan further mentioned that the nation of Pakistan has played a positive and proactive role in hosting the delegations of the United States and Iran in their country in order to resolve their disputes amicably and bring about peaceful conditions in the region.

MP Afzal Khan also asked the British government to provide diplomatic assistance to Pakistan in achieving its mission. To this, PM of the UK Keir Starmer reportedly told the parliament that Britain will offer all necessary help to Pakistan in resolving conflicts.
