ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif had a telephone conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezizkian on Sunday afternoon.
During the conversation, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the US attacks on Iran and the unprovoked and unjustified Israeli aggression over the past eight days. Prime Minister Shehbaz reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the brotherly Iranian people and government. He expressed his heartfelt condolences for the loss of precious lives and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
The Prime Minister strongly condemned the US aggression and Israel’s unprovoked and unjustified military actions against Iran, calling them a clear violation of international law and a serious breach of IAEA safeguards.

Calling for immediate de-escalation, Shehbaz Sharif stressed that the only viable way forward is through dialogue and diplomacy. He urged the international community to take collective action to de-escalate the crisis and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to play a constructive role in promoting peace.
Iranian President Pezishkian acknowledged the strong support from the people, government and military leadership of Pakistan and expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s timely support and solidarity. As the region reaches a tipping point, Islamabad’s call for peace and dialogue can serve as an important voice for peace in the increasingly volatile Middle East.
