Ramazan Bazaars in Punjab have been set up at 74 locations across the province to help people buy essential food items at lower prices. The initiative started on February 14 under the direction of the Punjab Sahulat Bazaars Authority<\/span><\/span> to provide relief before Ramadan begins.<\/p>\n

The provincial government converted existing Sahulat Bazaars into special Ramadan markets. These markets are now fully operational and ready to serve consumers. The aim is to reduce the financial burden on families during the holy month.<\/p>\n

Authority Chairman Afzal Khokhar<\/span><\/span> supervised the overall preparations. Officials ensured that arrangements were completed on time and facilities were available for smooth shopping.<\/p>\n

Director General Naveed Rafaqat<\/span><\/span> visited several markets to review the situation. He inspected bazaars in different areas of Lahore<\/span><\/span> and nearby Ferozewala. During the visits, he checked cleanliness, security, and the working condition of CCTV cameras.<\/p>\n

Officials confirmed that 16 essential items are available at reduced prices. These rates are up to 10 percent lower than prices fixed by district authorities. A 10-kg bag of flour is being sold for Rs. 850, while sugar is available at Rs. 140 per kilogram.<\/p>\n

A central control room has also been established to monitor all markets across Punjab<\/span><\/span>. The control room will operate continuously to handle complaints and ensure proper management.<\/p>\n

To maintain discipline, staff leave has been suspended during the operation. Senior officers have been asked to visit markets regularly and check arrangements.<\/p>\n

People can buy items using ration cards and Ramazan Nigehban cards. The government has also introduced a free home delivery service within five kilometres. This step is meant to help elderly citizens and vulnerable groups.<\/p>\n

Authorities are also considering special camps for senior citizens. These camps will provide easier access and dedicated support.<\/p>\n
