ISLAMABAD: In a recent development, the Bahria University<\/a> has issued an official notification regarding the fake notification circulating online that claims that during the holy month of Ramadan, any male and female student found standing together as a couple on campus would be immediately married.<\/p>\n

In a social media post, the Bahria University stated that ”It has come to our attention that a notification circulating on social media regarding restrictions during the month of Ramadan is being falsely attributed to Bahria University”.<\/p>\n

We clarify that no such notification has been issued by the University. The circulating letter appears to be a meme and does not reflect official policy.<\/div>\n

However, investigations confirm that the notification was fabricated and did not originate from the university.<\/p>\n

The widely shared letter alleged that male and female students standing together as a couple during Ramadan would not be allowed on campus and that, in case of violation, an immediate nikah would be arranged.<\/p>\n

It further claimed that the individuals involved would bear responsibility for wedding expenses, including the walima. To make the document appear authentic, it carried the signature of a supposed \u201cDirector Academics, Ayesha Rahman.\u201d<\/p>\n

The overall format closely resembled a formal university circular, which significantly contributed to its rapid spread across various social media platforms.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
