The Punjab Agriculture Interns Stipend<\/strong> has been approved at Rs70,000 per month by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif<\/span><\/span><\/strong>. The decision was taken on Friday during a high-level meeting in Lahore.<\/p>\n

The chief minister said the move will connect young graduates with practical farming experience. She stressed that modern technology and youth involvement are key to improving agriculture in Punjab.<\/p>\n

Under the \u201cApna Khet, Apna Rozgar\u201d programme, selected interns will manage farms. They will also work on modern agricultural methods and innovation projects across the province.<\/p>\n

The government also approved rooftop hydroponic farming projects for the first time in Punjab. Officials said 280 to 350 plants can be grown on rooftops as small as two marlas using special structures. Ten pilot projects will start in Lahore with the support of housing societies.<\/p>\n

To promote clean energy, the provincial government will solarize 10,000 diesel tube wells. This step aims to reduce fuel costs and environmental pollution.<\/p>\n

Under the Punjab Agriculture Mechanization Project, authorities plan to distribute 28,000 super seeders by 2028. These machines will help manage crop residue and reduce smog.<\/p>\n

The chief minister also approved Phase IV of the CM Green Tractor Program. Farmers will get Rs1.5 million subsidy for high-horsepower tractors. Subsidy for low-horsepower tractors has increased from Rs500,000 to Rs700,000.<\/p>\n

In another new step, Punjab will introduce ground recharge wells for rainwater harvesting. These wells will store rainwater and improve water supply for farming.<\/p>\n
