In a statement, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps<\/span><\/span> (IRGC) said the attack was launched in response to recent strikes by the United States and Israel. The group described the operation as part of a new phase of military action.<\/p>\n

The target of the reported strike was the USS Abraham Lincoln<\/span><\/span>. According to the IRGC, four ballistic missiles successfully hit the aircraft carrier.<\/p>\n
