PESHAWAR \u2013 KP CM announces Rs2,200 fuel subsidy for motorcyclists to reduce the financial pressure caused by rising petrol prices in the province.<\/p>\n
Chief Minister Sohail Afridi<\/strong> made the announcement during a press conference in Peshawar. He was joined by Special Assistant for Information Shafi Jan<\/strong> and Finance Adviser Muzammil Aslam<\/strong>.<\/p>\n The chief minister criticized the recent petrol price increase by the federal government. He said the decision has created serious difficulties for ordinary citizens who depend on motorcycles for daily travel.<\/p>\n According to Afridi, the provincial government has decided to provide financial support to motorcycle owners. The move aims to help people manage their transportation costs during the ongoing fuel price rise.<\/p>\n He said that about 1.4 to 1.6 million motorcycles<\/strong> are registered in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Each registered motorcycle owner will receive Rs2,200 as subsidy<\/strong> under the provincial relief plan.<\/p>\n The chief minister also said the provincial government stands with the public during this difficult period. He added that the government will not increase fares of the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT)<\/strong> service despite the rising fuel costs.<\/p>\n Afridi said the provincial administration will bear the additional expenses of the BRT system to protect passengers from further financial burden.<\/p>\n He further announced cost-cutting steps within the provincial government. The KP government has banned the purchase of new vehicles<\/strong> and limited official international trips<\/strong> to reduce spending.<\/p>\n The chief minister also mentioned that the provincial government will not purchase a new helicopter after the recent crash.
