{"id":103695,"date":"2026-03-10T17:45:22","date_gmt":"2026-03-10T12:45:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/?p=103695"},"modified":"2026-03-10T17:45:22","modified_gmt":"2026-03-10T12:45:22","slug":"ogra-refuses-reports-of-petrol-prices-hike","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/business\/ogra-refuses-reports-of-petrol-prices-hike\/","title":{"rendered":"OGRA refuses reports of petrol prices hike"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/pakistan\/kp-govt-launches-solarization-program-for-poor-families\/\">OGRA<\/a>) on Tuesday rejected social media reports claiming it had sent a summary to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif proposing a major increase in petroleum prices.<\/p>\n<p>The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) confirmed that no proposal exists that recommends a petrol price increase of Rs 73.40 per litre or a diesel price increase of Rs 84.95 per litre.<\/p>\n<p>An OGRA spokesperson declared the circulating claim to be completely baseless, and he advised people to avoid believing unverified information that circulates on the internet.<\/p>\n<p>The federal government raised petrol and high-speed diesel prices by Rs 55 per litre after global oil prices increased because of the ongoing United States-Israel-Iran conflict.<\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said global oil markets had reacted sharply, with crude prices jumping from around $60 to over $100 per barrel.
