US Embassy Baghdad Missile Attack<\/strong> has increased tensions in the Middle East after missiles struck the United States embassy in Iraq\u2019s capital on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Security officials in Baghdad<\/span><\/span><\/strong> said several missiles hit the compound of the United States Embassy in Baghdad<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, sending smoke rising from the building. Authorities did not immediately confirm the level of damage or casualties.<\/p>\n

An Iraqi security source also told Al Jazeera<\/span><\/span><\/strong> that the attack damaged the embassy\u2019s air defence system. Investigations are underway to determine who launched the missiles.<\/p>\n

At the same time, Donald Trump<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, the president of the United States<\/span><\/span><\/strong>, issued a warning to Iran<\/span><\/span><\/strong>. He threatened possible strikes on Iran\u2019s major oil export centre on Kharg Island<\/span><\/span><\/strong> if attacks on shipping in the Strait of Hormuz<\/span><\/span><\/strong> continue.<\/p>\n

Trump said the US military had already hit several military targets on Kharg Island but avoided oil facilities. He warned that any attempt to disrupt free shipping through the Strait of Hormuz could force the US to reconsider its position.<\/p>\n

The Strait of Hormuz is one of the world\u2019s most important oil routes. Around 20 percent of global energy supplies pass through this narrow waterway, making any conflict there a serious concern for global markets.<\/p>\n

Iran\u2019s armed forces responded by warning that if their energy infrastructure is attacked, they could target facilities linked to companies cooperating with the United States in the region.<\/p>\n

Iranian media also reported that more than fifteen explosions were heard on Kharg Island during recent US strikes. According to reports, the attacks targeted air defence systems, a naval base and airport facilities, but oil infrastructure remained undamaged.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Iranian state television claimed the country shot down five drones over its airspace, bringing the total number of US and Israeli drones destroyed during the war to 114.<\/p>\n

The regional conflict has widened in recent days. Iran\u2019s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps<\/span><\/span><\/strong> said it launched additional attacks on Israel<\/span><\/span><\/strong> with support from Hezbollah<\/span><\/span><\/strong> in Lebanon<\/span><\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Israeli military<\/span><\/span><\/strong> earlier said its air force struck more than 200 targets across western and central Iran within a single day. These targets reportedly included missile launch sites, air defence systems and weapons production facilities.<\/p>\n

The conflict has also caused losses for the US military. Officials confirmed that all six crew members of a US refuelling aircraft died after a crash in western Iraq<\/span><\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Oil markets remain unstable due to the ongoing war, which started on February 28 after large-scale US and Israeli attacks on Iran. Analysts warn that even minor disruption at Kharg Island could tighten global oil supply and increase prices.<\/p>\n

Despite the tensions, satellite images show several oil tankers continuing to load crude at Kharg Island. Reports indicate Iran exported between 1.1 million and 1.5 million barrels of oil per day during recent weeks.<\/p>\n

The crisis has already caused heavy human and economic losses across the region. Nearly two weeks of fighting have reportedly killed about 2,000 people and displaced millions from their homes.<\/p>\n

International powers are now exploring ways to protect shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz as fears grow that the conflict could spread further across the Middle East.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
