Experts say a small military deployment will not be enough.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"761\" data-end=\"917\">The analysis was published in a British newspaper. Defence expert Sam Kiley explained that Iran is a large and powerful country with strong military forces.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"919\" data-end=\"1062\">He said past wars clearly show that limited ground operations in such regions often fail. They can also lead to serious and long-term problems.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1064\" data-end=\"1273\">According to the report, former US President<a href=\"https:\/\/dailyausaf.com\/en\/news\/strait-of-hormuz-remark-by-donald-trump-sparks-debate-during-us-iran-tensions\/\"> <span class=\"hover:entity-accent entity-underline inline cursor-pointer align-baseline\"><span class=\"whitespace-normal\">Donald Trump<\/span><\/span><\/a> is considering sending 10,000 more troops to the Middle East. These would join around 8,000 US troops already stationed there.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1275\" data-end=\"1378\">However, analysts believe this number is too small for any major success in an Iran US ground invasion.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1380\" data-end=\"1563\">The report compared past conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. In Iraq, nearly 185,000 US and allied troops were deployed during 2007\u20132008. Despite this, full stability was not achieved.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1565\" data-end=\"1669\">Similarly, in Afghanistan\u2019s Helmand province, thousands of troops failed to fully control the situation.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1671\" data-end=\"1850\">Experts say Iran\u2019s size, population, and military strength make it very difficult to control. The country has forces like the Revolutionary Guard, regular army, and Basij militia.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1852\" data-end=\"1997\">The report also warned that while the US could achieve early targets, such as oil facilities or key islands, strong resistance is expected later.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1999\" data-end=\"2115\">This may include guerrilla warfare and advanced drone attacks, which could make the conflict longer and more costly.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2117\" data-end=\"2218\">Former British military officials also warned that unclear goals in such a war could lead to failure.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2220\" data-end=\"2320\">Experts believe that any large-scale Iran US ground invasion could have serious global consequences.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A new report has revealed that an Iran US ground invasion could require up to one million troops to succeed.
