ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Police have successfully recovered the stolen bicycle of a German tourist, Philip Sam, and arrested the suspect involved in the incident, officials said on Thursday.<\/p>\n

According to police sources, the Investigation Wing traced and recovered the bicycle from Cycle Orchard Scheme during a targeted operation. The accused was also taken into custody.<\/p>\n

The suspect has been handed over to Khanna Police Station for further legal proceedings, while an investigation is underway to determine the full circumstances of the theft.<\/p>\n

Earlier, the bicycle of the German tourist was stolen from a green belt near Faizabad within the limits of Khanna Police Station, where he had set up camp during his cross-country journey.<\/p>\n

Police officials reiterated their commitment to ensuring the safety of foreign visitors and said further action will be taken in accordance with the law.<\/p>\n

Earlier, In a troubling incident in the federal capital, a German<\/a> tourist, Philip Sam, fell victim to theft after his bicycle was stolen in the Khanna police jurisdiction, police said on Thursday.<\/p>\n

According to details, Philip Sam had entered Pakistan through the Khunjerab Pass on March 5 and began his cross-country bicycle journey from Gilgit-Baltistan. He travelled through various scenic areas of the region and later reached Islamabad via Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.<\/p>\n

Reports said the tourist had set up camp in a green belt near Faizabad on the night between Tuesday and Wednesday, parking his bicycle outside his tent. However, upon waking up in the morning, he discovered that his bicycle, which he had used to travel across several countries had been stolen by unidentified individuals.<\/p>\n

Following the incident, the tourist immediately informed the police. Officials of Islamabad Police said that a search operation is underway and expressed confidence that the stolen bicycle would be recovered soon and returned to its owner.<\/p>\n

A police officer from Khanna police station, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated that the tourist had camped in a deserted area near a drain where security arrangements were minimal.<\/p>\n
