ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to increase the prices of petroleum <\/a>products by a huge amount and announced a three-month subsidy for motorcyclists.<\/p>\n

While holding a press conference along with Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervez Malik, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb said that the committee has been working for the last four weeks on the instructions of the Prime Minister.<\/p>\n

The increase in the prices of petroleum products is affecting neighboring countries and other countries as well. It has been decided to increase the prices of petroleum products in consultation with the country’s leadership.<\/p>\n

He said that the prices of fertilizers and food items have also increased in different countries. The leadership has decided that targeted subsidies will be provided.<\/p>\n

Petrol Subsidy for Motorcycles<\/h2>\n

A subsidy of Rs. 100 per liter will be given on two-wheeler motorcycles. It has been decided to provide 20 liters of petrol per month to motorcyclists at a discount of Rs. 100 per liter for 3 months.<\/p>\n

He said that intercity public transport will be given a subsidy of Rs 100 per liter on diesel, freight vehicles will also be given a subsidy of Rs 100 per liter, large vehicles will be given a subsidy of Rs 80,000 per month, trucks will be given a subsidy of Rs 70,000 per month, while a monthly subsidy of Rs 100,000 has been decided for passenger buses.<\/p>\n

The Finance Minister said that agriculture is an important part of the country’s GDP, and a subsidy of Rs 1,500 per acre is being given to small farmers.<\/p>\n

On this occasion, Petroleum Minister Ali Pervez Malik said that due to the situation in the region, the government is taking difficult and responsible decisions.<\/p>\n

At this time, the nation needs strong unity. There is a surge in energy prices due to the Gulf War, and the whole world is being affected due to the rising prices of petroleum products.<\/p>\n

He said that today, crude oil has crossed $250 per barrel in the global market, the Gulf War issue has been worsening for a few weeks, in the context of the current situation, the government is following an austerity policy, 60 percent of government vehicles have been grounded, the government has not burdened the people by cutting costs and being austerity.<\/p>\n

The Petroleum Minister said that now the government has decided to increase the prices of petroleum products in the context of rising fuel prices at the global level, the new price of petrol has been set at Rs 458.40 per liter, while the price of diesel has been set at Rs 520.35 per liter.<\/p>\n

The government has increased the price of petrol by Rs 137.23 per liter. After the increase in rates, the new price of petrol is Rs 458.40 per liter, while the price of diesel has been set at Rs 520.35 per liter after an increase of Rs 184.49 per liter.<\/p>\n
